Carry grew up in Southwest Michigan and studied Public Relations at Western Michigan University. She and her husband ran a 45-acre blueberry farm in Michigan for 10 years. When the market took a turn, they packed up their house, their dog and their boys and decided to make a change. She saw an ad for seasonal help at a wine shop in Livingston, and six years ago they made the move to Montana.
Her love for wine was first inspired watching her mother water her gardens in the summer. Still in heels and a pants suit after a long day at work, with the watering can in one hand and a glass of wine in the other. That image was the pinnacle of success. Carry started her wine education working at a wine shop, which completely opened her eyes to what wine could be. With each sip, she could escape to the place where that bottle came from. This education continued as she transitioned into wholesale wine distribution.
When asked her favorite wine, Carry responded, “that’s like asking which one of my children I prefer (the dog, obviously!).” But seriously, she loves Italian whites, German Rieslings, oh and the Loire! Bubbles are a must when wearing heels (or even bare foot!) In her spare time, Carry enjoys cooking, camping, and skiing.
